The biggest problem that challenges most of those who are new to the RV lifestyle after they’ve picked up an RV isn’t figuring out the local spots they’d like to visit. It’s scouting out, planning, and embarking on trips that take them far away from home!

The US is home to some of the most scenic and beautiful natural environments in the world. And the good news is that most are accessible for RVs! But if you’re not sure where to begin planning your adventure of a lifetime, it can be a bit overwhelming to figure out where to go.

Not to worry! We’ve traveled all over the US in our RV and found that these have been our top 3 places to visit in the US. Let’s get started!

  1. Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado

Home to some of the tallest peaks in any of the US’s many national parks, Rocky Mountain National Park is a great way to start off your trip. One of the most magical times to visit is in September. During that time, the elk that call the park home flood into the valleys as enormous bull elk challenge each other to epic antler duals for the right to control as many cow elk as they can.

  1. Arches National Park, Utah

After you’ve visited RMNP, turn those wheels west and head over the Continental Divide for the deserts of Moab, Utah. Hidden away from interstate 70 is a park full of naturally formed arches of red sandstone. Arches National Park is home to the most naturally formed arches in the entire US. One of the most popular to visit is Delicate Arch, which stands independently on top of a red sandstone plateau. The best time to visit Arches National Park usually is in the early spring or late fall when summer temperatures have decreased significantly.

  1. Yosemite National Park, California

Saving the best for last, Yosemite National Park is by far one of our favorite places to go RVing. The park is enormous and easy to navigate by RV. There are plenty of campgrounds to choose from, ranging in location from the valley floor to high up in the alpine sections of the park. Once you’re in Yosemite, there are so many hiking trails to explore the vast beauty hidden within the park. One of the best experiences we’ve had at Yosemite was hiking the trail to McGurk Meadow. At the end of the hike, we were treated with a spectacular view of the famous El Capitan and Half Dome!

Final Thoughts

As you can see from our list, finding natural beauty to explore in your RV in the US isn’t tough to do. The toughest part is simply choosing where you’ll end up going first! We designed our list to create a loop of areas so that you can choose to visit each one after the other, or simply stay put in one for a while and take in all that it has to offer!

And once you’re done traveling to each of these spots, be sure to maintain that RV so that it’s ready for use for future trips to come. One of the best ways to extend the life of your RV is to cover it up before storing it.
